We were just notified of Fire Patrol photos for sale on smugmug.com. We purchased copies of all available color photos and most of these will appear in our book. All sizes are available including up to poster size so anyone looking for a nice picture to hang on the wall should look up these awesome pics. Steve Redick, the son of former patrolman Warren Redick is offering these pics for sale so do a search under his name on the site to locate his gallery of photos. Chicago Fire Department Photos are also for sale. |

Gentlemen, Would love a copy of new book. I was a salvageman/appliance driver in Glasgow (Scotland) for seven fantastic years until I entered industry as a plant safety fire officer and am still doing this grand job for last thirty years.Could you advise me as to cost of book, postage etc.Keep the memory alive lads, more so now that NewYork's Patrols have been disbanded am I right in thinking Bombay is the only Corps in existance in the world (no mean task). I have a copy of Simon Gispert's truly grand book on salvage corps and patrols as you may know Simon (who I keep in touch with) was himself in the London Salvage Corps. We are indeed an extinct breed of men, now.I visited New York corps about four years ago,was in Chicago also, stayed in House of Blues Hotel (met Dan Ackroyd) in foyer would you believe.I have an annual inspection photo from my time there and I have put a cross above all the deceased men that I served with and it is quite chilling indeed to see the amount of crosses on this photo indeed ,my former Station Officer just passed away a couple of months ago after I had met him at another former salvagemans funeral, sad times indeed. Kindest Regards, Jack. |

Hi Jack Thanks for you post. Sorry it took so long to respond. I am sure by now you have seen our updated book info on the first page of the site which answers your questions. Simon Gispert contributed to our book by letting us use some of his awesome illustrations. Take care Keith |

I am writing in the hope you may be able to put me in touch with Simon Gispert so that he can answer a question regarding the Liverpool Salvage Corps. My Step Father James Cassaday, (who previously has been a Fire Chief for both the Liverpool Brigade and the Guernsey Fire Brigade before his retirement), is writing a novel that he has asked me to help with research on. One of the chapters includes reference to the Liverpool Salvage Corps, but what he needs to know is if the Liverpool Corps were ever called on to assist in London Fire Salvage operations, possibly when the London Salvage Corps required the extra manpower. I am hoping Simon Gispert may be the best person to get the information he needs, and anything else he can tell me about the Liverpool Salvage Corps would also be very helpful. I have managed to get a good selection of information from the internet, but I am sure there is a lot more information that could be told that I have either not found, or has never been put onto the Internet. I would be grateful for anything Simon or anyone else may be able to add, or any suggestions for other appropriate people or places I could contact who may be able to provide further information on the subject. Thank you for any help you are able to give. I know both my Step Father and myself are very grateful.
